oct, 20th - henley show......

day 1348 / 447:

a few weeks back we headed off to the Henley Agricultural Show.....having done it last year, it's becoming a bit of an annual thing.  this year there seemed even more for the girls to enjoy....Limi milked a (wooden) cow, ground some wheat, made a biscuit, played in a cubby made from hay bales, sat in the cockpit of an old aeroplane ....and went down a slide on a doormat........Claya was mostly happy walking around making the sound of every animal that she came across.....

i overheard one gumboot clad gentlemen suggesting that they go back to the car for some Champagne....if that's how the locals do it then we have much to learn......we'll be back next year with the ice bucket in the car, to pick up some more tips.....

oct, 13th - 41/52....

day 1341 / 440:

we spent a week in Portugal recently (more of our trip on the blog soon).....

Claya: this was the week that she stopped crawling for good and walked Everywhere!

Limi: our last day at the beach was wet and windy and we got caught by a surprise wave.....despite Limi's face in this pic....she was slightly damp but so, so happy

oct, 11th - tourists in our own town....

day 1339 / 438:

we're planning on being tourists in our own town this weekend......we've had a flurry of visitors lately and been enjoying London with them so this weekend, we're inspired to do a bit more......

oct, 8th - park life.....

day 1336 / 435:

these pics are from a few weeks ago.....but it was such a beautiful day full of laughter, rolling down banks, birthday cake and tired, but such happy children by the end of it.....that i wanted to record it here on the blog......

oct, 7th - paddling in the thames....

day 1335 / 434:

after spotting the sweet swimming spot on our trip out to Hurley {see day 1330 /429}, we decided to take the next Friday afternoon off and go for a paddle.....

we'd left it too late in the Summer to actually swim but the girls loved splashing about, taking turns with the net and making some mud pies on the banks of the river. next year, we'll head out there mid-Summer and take full advantage of this lovely spot.

oct, 6th - 40/52....

day 1334 / 433:

i've missed a few of these lately whilst working on une belle époque but i've still been following all the amazing portraits on Jodi's feed here.

these two, are actually from my Instagram feed but they so clearly sum up what both girls are like at the moment......

Claya: determined to do things for herself.....like feed herself yoghurt.....

Limi: the first day back at school for the year. she loves school and her friends

oct, 2nd - the olde bell in summer....

day 1330 / 429:

over the winter time, we discovered The Olde Bell in Hurley {see day 1009/ 108, 1010/ 109}.....it has the most amazing garden that we couldn't wait to enjoy in the Summer......after a busy few months, we managed to make it out there on one of our last hot days.....

during Summer, they offer BBQ Kitchen options outside. on the day that we went, they had pulled pork maps, spatchcock baby chickens, potato salad and coleslaw.......you can eat it at a table or just lay down one of their picnic blankets and enjoy lunch on the lawn.....

it completely lived up to its Summer expectations.....

after lunch, we did our usual walk along the river Thames (it was considerably busier than in Winter) and discovered the sweetest swimming bay......we'll be back with our swimsuits!
