apr, 18th - last meal....

day 435:

if i could choose my last meal, it would be calamari and a greek salad from Chapman's Peak Hotel in Hout Bay, South Africa. i've been coming back to sit on the same deck for the last fifteen years....and it never stops being meltingly soft and tasty (even though they controversially crumb their rings). so, no trip home is complete without the spectacular drive along the coast from Camps Bay and descending into Hout Bay to sit on the deck, look across the road to the beach and savour the taste sensation which is feta + calamari+lemon.......

we had a bit of time on the beach pre-lunch....and appreciated some fine skills from the locals...firstly, buying a perfectly handmade bunny for Limi from some trading ladies........

next, watching this guy impressively negotiate the waves....

and finally, some high-wire entertainment.

there's nothing like spending the day with lovely friends, enjoying excellent food and soaking in a beautiful view......

so, if you ever find yourself in Cape Town......definitely do the drive from Camps to Hout Bay and order the following.....

calamari + chips + greek salad (which is enough for two)

oh, and based on A.'s waxing lyrical after every mouthful, the peri-peri chicken livers are definitely worth a try too.
